Where to put your drink in a home with pets
Start with how you and your pet use the room, then find a supported spot clear of movement.

Watch the route, not just the furniture
Notice how your pet enters the room, gets onto the couch, circles before resting and passes a coffee table. A surface can be flat and still sit in the path of a tail, paw or landing. Move the drink out of that route rather than relying on a holder to withstand it.
Keep your own reach comfortable
Choose a spot you can reach without leaning across your pet or lifting a drink over them. A side table next to your free hand often separates the drink from the seat. Check the actual table: the whole base must fit inside its edge, with room left for your fingers.
Support the whole holder
Steadi’s footprint is 5.2 inches across. The full base needs level, firm support, plus space for your hand and the container. A cushion seam, folded blanket or surface that changes when someone sits down can make a previously suitable spot unsuitable.
Access is a separate problem
Steadi does not close a drink or prevent a pet from reaching it. Keep your drinks out of pets’ reach, and remove them when you leave the area. A wider base is not a pet barrier, bowl or substitute for choosing an appropriate location.
Move the drink when the setup changes
If a pet begins playing, climbing or investigating the drink, relocate it. There is no universal safe distance that covers every animal and piece of furniture. Choose based on the actual movement and access in your home, not the appearance of a lifestyle photograph.
